About the Role
As a Remote Product Design / UX Expert, you’ll contribute your professional design experience to evaluate and make decisions around product design, usability, and taste preferences. This role is research-focused and ideal for senior designers who enjoy analytical thinking, product critique, and high-level UX decision-making.
The work is fully asynchronous, allowing you to contribute on your own schedule within weekly time commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate product design concepts and mockups
- Provide expert feedback on user experience and user journeys
- Apply professional judgment to product design and visual taste decisions
- Contribute insights based on real-world product design experience
- Complete assigned research and evaluation tasks independently
- Log project hours accurately for weekly payment
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Figma, Sketch, or Adobe design tools
- Ability to create and evaluate product mockups
- Proven experience providing UX and user journey feedback
- 3+ years of experience at a reputable or well-known tech company
- Strong product intuition and design decision-making skills
Location Requirements
- Candidates must be based in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada
Role Details & Commitment
- Fully remote and 100% asynchronous
- Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week
- Project duration: approximately 3–4 weeks after onboarding
- A paid assessment is required before an offer is extended
- Mercor will reach out with next steps if selected for the assessment stage
Compensation & Contract Details
- Industry-standard compensation, aligned with your current role
- Weekly payments via Stripe Connect, based on logged project hours
- Engagement classified as an at-will independent contractor
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not currently supported
