About the Role
As Senior Communications Manager (UK), you’ll be responsible for shaping and executing Substack’s communications strategy across the United Kingdom. This is a senior, hands-on role that blends media relations, storytelling, partnerships, and events to amplify Substack’s brand and the voices of creators using the platform.
You’ll report to the Head of Communications & Brand and collaborate closely with leadership across the UK and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute a UK-focused communications strategy
- Partner with leadership to grow Substack’s UK creator and subscriber base
- Draft press materials including media briefs, spokesperson bios, and interview prep
- Build and maintain strong relationships with UK and European media
- Serve as communications liaison for the UK Partnerships team
- Identify timely opportunities to elevate UK-based writers and creators
- Plan, promote, and execute high-quality Substack events
- Manage inbound media requests from across Europe
- Lead communications during high-pressure or crisis situations
